Biography
He is currently Associate Dean Medical Education and Head of the Educational Unit at the Dunedin School of Medicine, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. He is a practising paediatrician and Assoc Prof in The Department of Children’s and Women’s Health, Dunedin School of Medicine.
Research Interest
Ralph has an interest in teaching clinical reasoning in the clinical setting and by using virtual patients. He designed undergraduate paediatric curricula using a presenting complaints format at the University of Auckland and James Cook University. He has presented workshops on teaching clinical reasoning at international conferences. His research interests include clinical reasoning, curriculum development, e-learning, teaching clinical skills, the clinical learning environment.
